Sint-Truiden 73rd Harvest Blessing

Jaarlijkse bloesemzegening in Sint-Truiden

In Sint-Truiden, the 73rd annual blossom blessing took place at the Guvelingen chapel. Prior to the blessing, there was a tractor blossom tour covering 25 kilometers with around eighty tractors. Despite the changeable weather, the blossom season is in full swing in Sint-Truiden. According to Nina Kvikvinia, the Tourism Alderman (N-VA), the blossoms were late this year, and the peak is yet to come. Tourists have already flocked to the city, with a 100% occupancy rate in Truiense accommodations in April and over 4,500 tourists during the Easter holidays. The blossom blessing event was also successful, featuring an opening ceremony at the Guvelingen church, including a spring concert and a blossom reading by a local fruit poet. Additionally, a pop-up exhibition titled “Picking Fruit, Sowing Stories” delves into agricultural heritage in the region and runs until May 17.
